Rare 1982 Hagler vs. Hearns Boxing Match Old Vienna Beer Retail Display Poster
The fight that NEVER WAS! A quick search of the interwebs will reveal the story on the cancelled bout between Marvin Hagler and Thomas Hearns that was scheduled to be fought in Windsor Ontario on May 24, 1982. The two middleweights were all set to go, so much so that one of the sponsors made up these retail display posters for the closed circuit event that would draw a crowd down the highway at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. However, the official reason for the postponement was an injury to Hearns' pinky finger... but some research will turn up other "business" reasons for the cancellation. It would be another 3 years before the two would face each other in the ring. This vintage 18 x 24" poster is on heavier poster stock and is in great condition despite some "waving". Will be shipped in a sturdy poster tube which incurs some additional fees from Canada Post which is reflected in the shipping price.
