Description
This is a newspaper clipping about a World War II Boxing show in at he Adelaide Stadium in Adelaide, Australia on Dec 26, 1942. From a US soldier's estate where this clipping was saved. Headlining the bouts was Joe Celeste who was a professional boxer from 1942 to 1947 and is pictured. A special for the night was reappearance of champion Jack Johnson in Exhibition Bout. Interesting article beside the advertisement about war time shortages where beer could not be found and many other foods. Many stores were closed around Adelaide. Note- a few tears have been clear tape supported.
