between Champion Gene TUNNEY & Challenger Jack DEMPSEY
on September 22, 1927 at Solider Field, Chicago.
This Trifold foldout style program has been professionally Restored.
The program, printed on heavy card stock, includes mounted photos and profiles of DEMPSEY & TUNNEY
and is inscribed below DEMPSEY's signature: "To the sweetest girl in the world" Chicago, Sept 22, 1927.
Following the 1926 defeat of
DEMPSEY by TUNNEY

vowed to regain his title and
on September 22, 1927 at Soldier Field in Chicago,
Jack DEMPSEY
fought
Gene TUNNEY
for the second time.
This is One of the most famous boxing matches ever!
It was the famous,
very controversial
LONG COUNT
Fight when after
DEMPSEY
knocked down
TUNNEY
in the 7th Round,
he refused to go to a Neutral Corner, and the Referee would not start the count.
TUNNEY
beat the count and went on to win the Fight and retain his Championship by decision...
Observers speculated that once the referee started the count, 4-7 sec had already passed,
making the count 14-17 sec total

Ticket Measures 2.5" x 3"...
Paper loss on back of Ticket as it was removed from a scrapbook...
